Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a bodywork method that focuses on gently stimulating your Craniosacral System (membranes and fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord) to heal the body by improving the functioning of the central nervous system. CST effectively complements your body’s natural healing process, helping bring the body into greater balance.  With improved balance in the tissues, the body is better able to focus its energy on healing.

Your First Appointment

We will spend time together doing an intake and getting to know each other.  Expect Dr. Pam to be jotting down notes as you're telling your story (or your child's story).

What to Expect

You will remain clothed and lie either face up or on your side on the table.  Please dress for movement as Dr. Pam needs to be able to feel your body and thick clothing or boxy layers makes that more difficult.  Also, we may have you moving during your visit and want you to be comfortable.

CST is extremely light touch (think the pressure of a nickel).  Although we want you to be relaxed and strive for that environment, don't be surprised if Dr. Pam chats with you a bit to explain what is happening and educates you on what you can do to help yourself be healthier.

Common Conditions

CST can be beneficial for many conditions including:

Pregnancy ~ Optimal Positioning: back, Ligament & Leg Pain; Sciatica

Infants & Children ~ Post Tongue and/or Lip Tie Revision, Colic & Fussiness, Breastfeeding & Latch Issues, Torticollis, Plagiocephaly

Adults ~ TMJ, Headaches, Chronic Pain, Anxiety, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
